[Friendz] The Fellowship

Well, the reason im writing this is because it is a story of true hardship, a story of telling tales of ol' folklore, a story of a fellowship that stood the ancients of time.

Now imagine that, in like the movie guys voice! i know!

Anyway i was thinking of writing a story but nahhhh. This is more of a tribute to the fellowship that i'm in. See, we're just a bunch of no-one's knowing one day we'd make it big. We're your average 'mamak' dwellers. From the infamous Stevens to Nathans, BRJ to Berkleys, yup we've eaten all there was. And that ladies and gentlemen is an understatement. We're your futsal 'kaki' on weekends and your house party extrodinaires. But as of late i have been thinking there something new to add on to this fellowship's persona. We've got each others backs when car crisis occurs. I started thinking of how our fellowship never cease to suprise me. Let me tell you a bit more on why were just that and so much more.

You see, the latest incidents; being my car breaking down at 7.15am yesterday and Doug's last Sunday really got me thinking of how grateful i am for the existence of this unsound bond. It is because everytime one of our cars breakdown, the fellowship is always there. We're all not car enthusiast but share a common cause; love and friendship. Getting too soppy now. I think its just that a friend would do anything for a friend if its really that important. And we know that our cars are like the most important things to us as we really need it cause we're all working or studying.

So here is a shout out to those who has had car problems weve helped out on;

  • Christian (Mini-180 on Sungai Besi Highway),
  • Douglas (Charade-tyres,petrol distributer),
  • Marcus (Toyota i think-Battery),
  • Wynton (Wira-Overheated),
  • Kevin (Tiara-Tyres),
  • Khirun (Myvi-Tyres),
  • Christopher (Van-Accident),
  • Shane (Myvi-Accident)
  • Mine (Volvo-Petrol)
  • Jared (Kenari-Accident)
  • and to those not mentioned.

"May the fellowship of car ownership and its problems never cease to overcome hardship."

Ps- There will be a video out soon on the car problem Doug had and how the fellowship took on the task.

[Darts] Gravity?

It has remarkably been a month since I felt I played proper darts. Inconsistent throws, dumb-founding scores and losing streaks are all I’ve faced in the past month. My darts feels like strangers to me. That comfortable strokes, 140’s and occasional 180’s are all a thing of the past at the moment. Every dart seems like an up-hill battle of controlling. Occasional (Tons) feel like gifts from God. Some say it’s the mind, some say it’s the heart, and some may say otherwise, but I believe it is the Law’s of Physics; “What goes up must come down”

I believe and I know that sportsmen and women have a moment in their careers where everything seems to be going down-hill. No more titles, more losses and more inconsistency are one of the few problems faced. As a current example, Roger Federer who undoubtedly shown the world his excellence in tennis wining back-to-back titles, grand slam finals, being World No. 1 and poised to break Sampras records is struggling to win a match. Injuries, inconsistency and “The Laws of Physics” have brought the great man down. At least for the time-being. But slowly climbing up again, I would say it is virtually impossible if he doesn’t continue his success in the months/years to come.

And just like that, so my darts have been. Having a successful year in my books, my level has dropped way down the ladder. With the change of darts, more time, personal training, etc only time would tell if it will all come back to place. And just like Kevin R. says, “ All you gotta do is keep plugging it, and it WILL come” and that’s what I intend to do. Hopefully before the Penang Open at the end of the month.

[Footy] Two Wins on The Trot

It was a very beautiful week of football for me and without a doubt all United fans. A one-nil and 4-1 win at Trafford against FC Barcelona and West Ham United respectively. A game left in the BPL and a final against the other semi-final winner Chelsea is all that’s left of United’s season.

First things first the clash against Barca. Boy oh boy was that one hell of an intense match. I think I had about 4 cigs during the last 10 minutes of the game. Every time boy wonder Lionel Messi had the ball, dare I say all United fans were biting their nails including myself. It wasn’t a one sided affair though stats show that Barca had most of the possession. United played some solid defense throughout the game even with the absence of Nemanda Vidic and showed the world why they are where they are with some tantalizing display of attacking football. And my predictions came through with an opening stunner by midfield maestro Paul Scholes. Quote – “The man who missed 99’s Final puts United through the 2008 Finals”. It was Unbelievable!

Then came the West Ham game which I had predicted would have been the easier of the 2 remaining games in the league. 3-1 up by half time, I hardly could bother of what could happen next. If you thought Scholesy’s goal against Barca was awesome, you should have seen Tevez’s goal that virtually put West Ham out of their misery. A stunner out side the box gave Robert Green no chance of denying. Cristiano sealed his Golden Boot with a brace earlier to bring his tally up to 30 premiership goals. If that couldn’t pain the West Ham faithful, ex-youth player Michael Carrick sealed the score-line to increase United’s goal difference to 19. One game left at the JJB, and though many might say that Wigan have nothing to play for and easy it will be for United, I have my doubts of whether Brucey would hand his former gaffer the title on a silver platter. I believe pride would be at stake.

My predictions for the up and coming games would be United to lift the title after a 2-1 win at the JJB and United for the title in Moscow. How fitting would it be for the team who deserves it the most. Don’t you think so?

[Footy] So many Questions

Can United still come out tops after the defeat at the hands of The Blues?

Has United lost its steam in these crucial stages of the competition?

After a run of 2 draws and a lost, United seems to be in trouble after a spell of disappointing displays at Trafford, Nou Camp and the indestructible Stamford Bridge. Level on points with Chelsea, United is still on top for the time being with a 16 goal difference advantage.

In my point of view, the tactics United are playing though consistent and productive have become a bit too predictable. Throughout the seasons, Ronaldo has been seen rested for most parts of the game until the opponents get so tired down the speed master, dribbling phenomenon dazzles and delivers the deadly blow. And I can bet my bottom dollar that all United’s opponents can already expect that seeing Ronaldo warming the bench.

True, United have enough talented midfielders to deliver a punch or two, and consistently so, having class internationals such as Carrick, Fletcher, Ji-Sung and the newly required trio of Anderson, Nani and Hargreaves. Of course not forgetting the remaining “Ferguson Babes” of Giggs and Scholes. Having said that, Ferguson can defend his actions in resting his “Star Player”.

Then a new batch of questions arise. Is this the cause of United’s slump? Maybe. How do you accommodate so many midfielders? Yup! Use them as a Striker or Right Back the way Ferguson has so comfortably done. But where is the development in that? Where would the consistency be? Unfortunately for United, this has been the case for the past seasons. Hence the sales of Alan Smith, Giuseppi Rossi and half of the Sunderland squad.

So, can United pull off what seems to be a dreadful run-up to the League? Statistics say most probably. With United having a games against West Ham and Wigan, all United need is two comfortable wins. Which seems likely against West Ham but shady against Steve Bruce’s rejuvenated Wigan. But pointing out the sublime talent mentioned above I would convincingly say the title is in the bag on goal difference or with a slip-up by Chelsea. How? With a Chelsea trip up to St. James Park. Newcastle playing consistently well under Magpie legend Kevin Keegan, might just pull up a surprise and a winning blow for United faithful.

As for the 2nd leg of The Champions League? Well if United played the way they did in their first leg at the Nou Camp, then United would just have to wait another season for its European glory. To the major disappointment of particularly Paul Scholes, who missed out on United’s European success in 1999.

Another thing i’d like to point out is the consistent lack lustre performances in big games for the man who has already broke United’s midfield records. The man we know as Cristiano Ronaldo. It happened against AC Milan last season and Blackburn, Barca and Chelsea of late. The only big occasion in which he has proudly done so would be the FA Cup win against Millwall years ago.

So the question arise here right now would be “When oh when will this slump end?” Hopefully this week at Trafford against the mighty Barca.

Questions, questions, questions.....

Welcome

Now what i've realized in the past few days is that i've got so many things i got to get off my chest. But like every blog i've had in the past has been a failure. I think it was 78 post in a space of 2 years. Let's hope i got some sense to say and that this doesn't just become an old ragged tee.

Peace
